The legendary striker Jimmy Greaves played for four different top flight  football clubs in his career. While he preferred to pass the ball into the goal, his trademark style of passing saw him noticed at a young age. Jimmy was a natural goal scorer and his goals got him noticed by Chelsea.  He turned professional in 1957 and scored on his debut against his future club Tottenham in a 1-1 draw.  He played 4 seasons for Chelsea scoring a total of 132 and also becoming the youngest player to score 100 goals.

In the summer of 1961 he was sold to Italian side AC Milan which turned out to be an unhappy and brief spell.  Although his goal return was good he was unhappy in Italy and looked for a quick return to London.  Chelsea were interested in taking him back but he chose to go to Spurs who had just won the double and a better chance to win a medal or  two. A fee of £99,999 was the biggest ever transfer fee at the time yet would prove to be a bargain.
